Frequently Asked Questions About 3D Virtual Tours

Everything you need to know before creating a virtual tour of an existing space, a project from 2D floor plans or a business on Google Maps.

What types of spaces can you turn into a 3D virtual tour?

Mat4luX works with residential properties, offices, retail spaces, showrooms, public-facing venues, hotels and interior design or renovation projects. Each request is assessed according to the space, the purpose of the tour and its location.

What areas do you cover?

Mat4luX is based in Luxembourg City and usually operates within approximately 70 km, covering Luxembourg and neighbouring regions. For projects located further away, contact us so we can assess the feasibility of the assignment.

What is the difference between scanning an existing space and creating a 3D tour from floor plans?

For an existing space, we carry out an on-site capture using a Matterport Pro2 camera. For a future project, a 3D environment is created from your 2D floor plans and then turned into an immersive virtual tour.

Does the space need to be empty before the Matterport capture?

No. A furnished and well-prepared space is often more engaging. However, we recommend removing unnecessary items, hiding confidential information and identifying any areas that should not appear in the virtual tour.

How long does a Matterport capture take?

The time required depends on the floor area, the layout of the space and the level of preparation. An apartment or house can generally be captured within a few hours. A more precise estimate is confirmed in the quotation.

When will the virtual tour be available?

After the capture, the virtual tour is prepared, checked and published. Delivery time depends on the size of the project and the selected options. We provide a realistic delivery timeframe before the project begins.

Why is a Matterport subscription required?

The virtual tour is hosted on the Matterport platform so that it remains accessible online from computers, tablets and smartphones. The subscription covers hosting and continued availability of the tour and is separate from the capture or 3D creation service itself.

Can I embed the virtual tour on my website?

Yes. The tour can be shared via a link, embedded directly into a website or used in a property listing, sales presentation or digital communication, depending on the agreed rights and intended use.

Does a Google Street View tour improve my Google ranking?

A 360° tour published on Google Maps enriches the presentation of your business and helps potential visitors discover the location before they arrive. It can strengthen your local online presence, but it does not guarantee a higher position in Google search results.

How much should I budget for a virtual tour?

Pricing mainly depends on the floor area, the type of project, the preparation required, the location and any additional options. Indicative prices are available on our dedicated pricing page, and a detailed quotation is provided before any work begins.
